About me
I am a native fourth generation Oregonian, born in Forest Grove and raised on a 10 acre farm two miles South of Banks. I went to Parochial School in Roy and graduated from St. Mary of the Valley Academy in Beaverton. My father was a sawfiller in logging camps and my mother was a homemaker raising seven children.
After meeting Donavon Shaw, a North Plains Police Chief, he soon filled the vacancy in Enterprise as their Police Chief. Upon finding the winters long, cold, and lonely, he asked me to join him as his wife and mother of his two sons, adding to the five children I already had.
I soon found that a good way to meet new people and make good friends was in volunteering for community services, and have been active in assisting at Safe Harbors, Community Connections, and through my church at St. Katherine's in Enterprise. I also volunteer to help with Enterprise festivities such as Winterfest, and Mule Days. I have been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of Wallowa County Garden Club, Economic Action Team in Enterprise, and a board member for Commission on Children and Families. My latest endeavor is class participant and a graduate of Ford Institute Leadership Program and a trainer for the Ford program. Not finding enough to do, I also was a 4-H leader helping girls, or boys learn how to sew. As 2009 comes to a close, I am finishing my second term as City Councilor for the City of Enterprise, which I feel is a very fulfilling job. I have had several jobs in Wallowa County from working for Doug Tippet in potatoes, to part time receptionist at the City of Enterprise. I worked five years for Terry Bates at Eastern Oregon Nursery potting flowers.
I decided in 2007 to become a real estate broker, and with the support of Principal Broker Karen Raminha, passed all my courses and the real estate exam.
